Clean Up Your Apps!

Here’s a fun way to clean up your phone and save some money!

Get yourself a dry erase marker, some colored post-it notes, and a large window, mirror, or whiteboard.

Write down – every app on your phone, program on your computer, service on your TV, storage plan up in the cloud – write them all down on these post-it notes.

Draw 3 big columns on your mirror, window, or whiteboard:

NEED | WANT | CUT

Use my tips to paste the post-its in the correct columns until you've cut your way down to a lighter, less expensive digital life!

With each service, ask yourself...

  • What does it do?

  • How much does it cost?

  • What else do I have that does the same thing?

Tip 1!

Nearly everything you can pay for; you can do online for free. If you use it every day, it's probably worth paying for. If you use it once a month, use the free version. Sign up for the free trial and then cancel. You can do this more than once. Set yourself a calendar reminder for the day the free trial ends and be sure to cancel before they start charging! Do this right when you sign up or you will forget!

Tip 2️!

Remember all these things are meant to make your life easier. You shouldn't need 3 of them to almost, sort of accomplish the job. If it's only good for 5% of what you need, you're better off without it. If it’s doing 95% of things right, hang on to it! But first, educate yourself. Sometimes they do more than you think. I bet you’ll find it does a whole bunch of stuff you're paying other apps to do.

Tip 3️!

Less is more. Don't overcomplicate your life with things you think you need or want. Things just get in the way of our happiness, waste our time and our money!! I promise you won’t miss it when it’s gone. And you’ll be happier when you look at your banking app.

Reach out if you want some help or let me know how it goes. Good luck!
